Hanzi Keeper is built on two share-alike dictionaries, which means the dictionary it derives from them carries the same licence and has to be available. It is.

Write to jyl.iosapp@gmail.com and we will send you the exact file the app ships, together with the tool that builds it. The format is documented in the tool.

Licence

Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike, following its sources:

• CC-CEDICT, Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International, published by MDBG.
• CFDICT, Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0, by Chine Informations.
• Unihan and CJKRadicals.txt, Unicode License V3, by Unicode, Inc.
• Tatoeba sentences and their translations, Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 France, by the Tatoeba contributors (tatoeba.org). The Tatoeba sentences the app shows keep their numbers, so each can be traced to its authors.

The Japanese and Korean meanings, translated for the app from the English of CC-CEDICT, and the example sentences written for the app where Tatoeba had none for a character's everyday meaning, are part of the derived dictionary and carry its licence.
